The Rolf Method of Structural Integration
Alignment-Based Yoga Therapeutics

Chronic physical and emotional pain? Breakthrough Body Healing can help.

Many people with chronic pain have spent months or years going from one doctor to another, trying to find a solution to their suffering. If you’ve followed your doctor’s orders, tried prescription drugs and other treatments as prescribed and are still in pain, you owe it to yourself to learn more about Breakthrough Body Healing.

Our founder, Teena Evert, uses a multi-modality integrative approach to help you relieve chronic symptoms of physical and emotional pain. Teena’s clients have reported many different, positive experiences as a result of their therapy, including greater self-confidence, increased energy and a feeling of overall well-being… of finally feeling “at home” within their own bodies.

The Rolf Method of Structural Integration

Dr. Ida P. Rolf was an acclaimed US scientist and pioneer of complementary medicine. She developed Structural Integration (SI). SI grew from the pre-existing complementary practices of osteopathy and yoga. This method became know as Rolfing, as a modification of Ida Rolf’s own name.

SI is a process for re-educating and releasing deeply set patterns of negative postural holding in the connective tissue, to help the body realize its fullest potential for energy, balance, and ease of movement feeling of being held by your own natural balance in gravity.

SI is a hands-on body transformation, which renews the natural alignment and structural balance of the human body for pain-free vitality and well-being. Because the places we feel pain and tension are just part of the whole complex structure, lasting relief can only happen when the whole body is integrated, balanced, and aligned.

Benefits of treatment include:

  • Decreased pain & discomfort
  • Improved flexibility
  • Improved posture
  • Improved performance (in daily activities, at work, and in your favorite sport or physical activity)

Yoga: The ancient practice of self-care, perfectly designed for stressful modern times.

The antidote to the stress response is relaxation. As the body engages its natural relaxation response, the condition of stress is replaced by the state of deep relaxation. The body rests. Energy is directed to the processes of repair and rejuvenation; natural healing takes place. Equilibrium is restored, and the body regains lost energy. For millions of people, yoga is the key to achieving this level of wellness.

Teena is currently working towards her certification in the B.K.S Iyengar tradition, which emphasizes precision in physical alignment to awaken and realign the whole body-mind complex. She teaches specialty workshops for back care, as well prenatal & postpartum yoga for expectant and new moms.

Alignment-based yoga provides relief from chronic health problems such as arthritis, back pain, hypertension, migraines, etc., and makes the practitioner healthy in all aspects of well- being, from the mind, body and spirit.
